The UK airline is introducing complimentary fast onboard wifi by way of satellite agreement
Travelers on British Airways will soon use quick internet in the air at no cost following a major deal involving Elon Musk's communications provider.
Complimentary and High-speed Internet Across the Board
British Airways revealed that the free, “fast and dependable” internet service from Starlink is set to be offered to customers in coach, premium economy, or first class from next month.
Expanded Implementation Over Various Carriers
The umbrella organization for the airline, IAG, confirmed it had reached an partnership involving Starlink for providing connectivity coverage across 500-plus jets within its carriers, such as the Irish airline, Iberia, and Vueling.
Seamless Connectivity from Boarding through Landing
The airline noted that this implementation for the service was part of a £7bn “upgrade” plan that will offer lag-free connectivity service to flyers from boarding through arrival, even when in flight above large bodies of water or far-off locations.
Travelers will be able to hook up multiple gadgets while they will not have to use a unique access code.
“Gamechanging for the airline as well as passengers, improving their experience onboard with us by giving them seamless wifi from start to finish.”
Present Connectivity Services
Restricted wifi access remains offered to BA travelers through most of the airline's jets via its .air system.
Enrollees in the airline's reward scheme can dispatch texts plus plain-text messages in the air at no cost, while flyers who want to stream music, video, or content throughout their flight and are not flying in business or first can expect to pay between £4.99 and twenty-one pounds ninety-nine for a wifi package.

Starlink operates a network of thousands of satellites and it's run by SpaceX’s SpaceX.
Ongoing Improvements for the Airline
Their leadership has been working to revitalize British Airways back after years with budget reductions, system failures, strikes, and large-scale layoffs.
BA noted that implementation of artificial intelligence had helped the airline to reach its on-time performance at peak performance from over a decade ago.
Profit Results
Earlier this year, the carrier disclosed a jump in operating profits during the first six months recently, assisting the parent company earnings upward.
The group will announce the financial performance for the three months this summer on Friday.
Other SpaceX Partnerships
This news follows days following telecom carrier Virgin Media O2 said it was working alongside the satellite provider to improve mobile network coverage in rural parts across the United Kingdom, enabling consumers to automatically link phones through satellites if there is no standard cellular service exists.
