New England Equal Best Victory Run From Brady Era with Triumph Against New York Jets

Patriots rookie TreVeyon Henderson in action

First-year player Henderson has recorded five TDs in the present year

The New England Patriots matched their best victory streak since the Brady period as they defeated AFC East opponents the Jets 27-14 in the NFL

Rookie Henderson led the way with three touchdowns as the New England squad claimed an eight-game winning streak for the first time since legendary quarterback Tom Brady's closing campaign with the franchise in 2019

QB Maye passed for 281 passing yards and a touchdown, completing 25 of 34 passes

The triumph extends the New England's advantage at the summit of the AFC East as they improved to nine wins and two defeats, with the Jets at the foot after slipping to two wins and eight losses

The Jets had scored first at Foxborough with QB Justin Fields running in a five-yard TD to cap the New York's opening drive

But the home team fought back in the second period as Henderson scored two seven-yard TDs before the ball carrier grabbed a reception from Maye at the rear of the end zone midway through the third quarter to push the score to 21 to 7

"That was a crucial moment for him stepping up, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback said of Henderson. "He wants to be great."

Justin Fields threw to Metchie late in the third period to reduce the lead for the visitors but Borregales converted a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter as the Patriots wrapped up the victory
